Hyperion is a DOD Contractor.  Hyperion was rewarded the contract to install new check-out lanes in all DOD Commissaries. I was a sub-contractor for Hyperion, for this reason. My scope of work entailed the installation of all new cat-6 cabling, from the check-out lanes to network equipment located in the POS office. There were some new installation of equipment that had to be place in their existing racks and old equipment that had to be removed (routers, server, multiplexers, and patch panels). All this work was done doing a maintenance window. All cut-over were successfully completed with minimum down time. The cat-6 cabling had to be terminated at both ends with RJ-45 connectors. The time away from home was having a negative impact on the home front. I returned home to seek local employment

This lead to Switch and Data receiving the contract to house, two hundred thousand square feet of space to Pac West of Sacramento, California.

Work performed: Detailed manhole drawing of existing underground plant. This was part of the pre-installation survey, to support the NMCI project at Pensacola Naval Base, Fl. Work involved, recording the dimension of the manholes, identify and label all cables and splice closures; ensure all splice closure were grounded as well as bound. Recorded sizes of all conduits, their routes and inspected closures for leaks as well as proper tape wraps. Made sure all transition splices from lead to pic were done according to Bell Specs. Up-dated all manhole drawings and numbered each manhole.

Also perform emergency Fiber and CATV cable restoration Time Warner; after a major ice storm in North Carolina. Replaced drops to DID and repaired over 20 miles of fiber optic cables. Restored telephone and TV service to over two hundred customers

Lead and trained three installation crews on installing Fujitsu FLM-150, FLM-600 and FLM-2400 Fiber Optic Network Rings (SONET). This equipment is similar to Nortel's OC-3, OC-12, OC-48 and OC-192. We sold our services to Bell South, Bell Atlantic, Verizon and Adelphia as well as others, including the international markets. Prior to the reduction in force, my team was responsible for installing the ADOX Light-guide Wave System from Miami to Chicago, also from Ontario, Ca. to Las Vegas, NV performing partial turn up of the system which involved, slotting of cards, bar coding for the customer and FNC. The objective 6/1993 - 6/1996 was to install a ring throughout the U.S for Dynergy via Level 3 site locations. All legs of the ring that I was involved with, were done on or before the due date, for a profit. After work was completed sites were revisited to perform quality audit on all installation which included Panduit Fiber Tray, Iron Work for Ladder Racks and Top Support, Power Cable Installation, Lacing of Cable and Grounding: Isolated and Integrated Ground of Racks and Bays to include Star washers to rack Ground from Equipment Shelves. Quality Audit was done in Accordance with TP76300 and TP76400.
